EC= (Task / Time) * ROI Factor
Salary= EC x Time
What the current salary equation do not take into consideration, is how different employees are, and how relative Time is to each employee. The equation of Salary based on Time leaves out important variables that, if considers properly, could be game changers in the way we percieve compensation.
1. Because Time is relative to each employee, The Task per Time equation is unfair to whoever works a lot, and very generous to whoever works too little.
2. Not all tasks are the same; some tasks are tedious, others are big money generators. Tasks have a quality to them.
The need to rethink the way we are being compensated is due. Taking a closer look on what actually makes up a salary can not only help optimize our time and consequently, our quality of life, but it can also create a more personalized approach to the recruitement process, and that, could potentially breed fairer compensation and better yet, happier people.
